Catherine Drabkin’s work has been exhibited both nationally and internationally. She has been invited to participate in group exhibitions in museums including the Biggs Museum of American Art in Dover, DE; the Delaware Art Museum; La Maison de la Bretagne in Paris, France; the Musee de Chateau Rochefort-en-Terre, France; the Eleanor O. White Museum in Roanoke, VA; Colby College Museum of Art; the Attleboro Museum in Attleboro, MA; and the National Academy of Design in New York. She has also participated in exhibitions at Yale University, Wright State University, the University of Delaware, the University of New Hampshire at Durham, Haverford College, the College of William and Mary, Purdue University, the University of Wisconsin, Marywood University, Boston University, Marymount Manhattan College, Montserrat College of Art, The Painting Center, NY, and New York University. Examples of her work can be found in the Association des Petites Cités de Caractère de Bretagne, France; the Getty Trust in Santa Monica, CA; The Rauner Special Collections Library of Dartmouth College in Hanover, NH; Washington University in St. Louis, MO; Amtrak in Wilmington, DE; and numerous private collections.

Solo exhibitions have been presented at Kraushaar Galleries, NY, where she has been represented since 1994; the Members’ Gallery at the Albright-Knox Art Gallery in Buffalo, NY; the Delaware Division of the Arts Mezzanine Gallery in Wilmington, DE; The McKinney Gallery; West Chester University in West Chester, PA; Marlboro College in Marlboro, VT; and the Jaffe-Friede and Strauss Galleries at Dartmouth College in Hanover, NH.

Drabkin’s work was used for the cover of Flying at Night: Poems 1965-1985, by former United States Poet Laureate Ted Kooser. Other recent publications include American Painters in the Small Towns of Character in Brittany with an introduction by Rene Le Bihan, and Kraushaar Galleries: Celebrating 125 Years by Betsy Fahlman. Her work has appeared as part of the set design of Baby Mama, a Universal Studios major motion picture, and has also been reproduced in The Artist and the American Landscape, by John Driscoll & Arnold Skolnick, The New York Times, Delaware Today, Art in America, The New York Observer, The News Journal, the Philadelphia Inquirer, American Artist Watercolor, Out and About Magazine, and Art New England. Interviews have appeared in Ouest-France and on WHYY TV Delaware Today “Experience Delaware.”

The artist is the recipient of numerous residency fellowships and grants, including most recently an opportunity grant from the Delaware Division of the Arts to support Finding Home: an American Neighborhood, an artist's book inspired by her neighborhood in downtown Wilmington.

A founding faculty of the Delaware College of Art and Design, she has served as Area Coordinator for Fine Arts and Foundations, Assistant Dean and Acting Dean and taught courses in three departments. She has also taught at the University of Nebraska/Omaha, Southern Connecticut State University, Dartmouth College and Point Park University, Pittsburgh, where she is currently teaching figure drawing.

She received her BFA from the Maryland Institute/College of Art and her MFA from Queens College/CUNY.
